Gaylon has spent his entire career with the firm, starting out as a field technician in 1971. He opened the firm’s first branch office, in Houston in 1977, and the San Antonio office in 1991.
Constantly seeking ways to assure the professionalism of testing and balancing, Gaylon has been active in overseeing standards development for ASHRAE. His efforts for this international organization cover all aspects of HVAC systems, from overall installation to air distribution systems and smoke control, including the specialty needs of laboratory and healthcare facilities. Recognizing his contributions, ASHRAE named him a Fellow and honored him with a Distinguished Service Award. He has been active in the Associated Air Balance Council, chairing committees for technician training and standards.
In addition to his firm management role, Gaylon reviews projects during design for balanceability and commissioning, reviews final reports produced by the Houston office and works directly with engineers, architects and owners with TAB/commissioning issues and projects. He is an AABC-certified TBE and a Certified Commissioning Authority by the AABC Commissioning Group.
