Houston Sales Manager
Gar worked part-time at the firm while earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, then joined us full-time upon graduation in 1978. He quickly advanced to management and learned the importance of establishing testing protocols and procedures, with the first-ever testing and balancing of a nuclear power plant. Procedures that Gar and firm founder Walt Lipski developed in the early 1980s for Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station near Phoenix, which is still the nation’s largest, blazed the trail for today’s industry-wide guidelines.
He broke new ground in testing jail smoke-removal systems. Overseeing our entire Houston office, Gar worked with the Bexar County Jail design team and contractors to develop new written procedures to meet Texas Jail Commission requirements. He also worked closely with K-12 school facilities managers throughout Southeast Texas to implement testing and balancing, giving schools greater assurances for optimal initial and life-cycle performance.
Certified as a TBE by the Associated Air Balance Council and a member of ASHRAE, Gar continuously monitors industry advancements to keep our firm’s procedures cutting edge.
